Grooming the young ones.

It’s been a while since I posted.

I can’t believe more than a year has passed since starting P37. Life has slowed down for the better, and I’m enjoying everyday. My schedule has more or less stabilised, students are coming regularly and a comfortable routine has settled.

My young students (those that are between 5-9 years old) are growing up so quickly, both in skill and size haha! Kids grow up in a blink of an eye. I have a miniature stool for small children to sit on when playing the drums (since they’re still too tiny to sit on the regular sized drum throne), and now a couple of young students have already outgrown the stool!

I look back to when I first started teaching drums to young children many years ago, some of whom have already enlisted for NS; and I pinch myself thinking how has been that I’ve been doing this for so long! Haha. Jokes aside, it makes me feel proud to be a small part of all my young students’ growing up years.

I’m thankful for this vocation that I’ve chosen, and it brings me immense joy to see my students, both young and the not so young, slowly master the art of playing the drumkit. I pray that I’ll continue to have the opportunity, to impact many more people through music and playing drums.
